Everything was packed neatly and they are very generous with the portions. The food was great and especially for the price. It's probably the most affordable sushi place on campus. I ordered #1 to go which was $12.95 before tax if I remember correctly (as of Oct. 8, 2024).

This is an OG and a hidden gem located in UBC Village’s International Food Court (downstairs). I greatly appreciate the owners approach to their pricing to be accessible to students. There are a lot of food options on campus now but we always come back to Miyamae. We love their Bento Box 1 (Chicken Teriyaki + California roll) & Box 2 (Beef Teriyaki + spicy tuna roll), each comes with miso soup, rice, salad and 3-piece tempura. Their food is consistently fresh and the rolls are made to order. Box 1 is $12.95 Box 2 is $13.95 With tax, everything in the photo came up to be $28.25!!

Fair price for their sushi and the curry katsu! I always enjoy eating the spicy tuna and spicy salmon. The house roll is large from what you can see in the photos. I recommend the katsu if your craving anything fried.

this place is great if you’re craving japanese food that’s well priced. the portions are really big i got a full chicken teriyaki, small salad, half-sized tempura, and a full california roll AND a miso soup for $12.95. this food was enough to last me the whole day, i didn’t even ask for the food in a togo box because i didn’t expect the portion to be so big, but the man working there was kind enough to package the california roll in a togo box since he thought i wouldn’t be able to finish it overall the food is decent, the tempura was nice and crunchy, the miso soup was comforting, and you can’t go wrong with a california roll. the chicken teriyaki could be better imo, the sauce could be more umami but i can’t complain about getting that much meat for $12.95.

Cheap prices compared to similar food at UBC. Surprisingly big portions for the price and quick, no-frills service. The quality of the sushi isn’t exceptional, but it’s always fresh and tasty. I’ve come here many times and will continue to do so in the future.
